With this plugin, after player uses Teleport spell, all of the NPCs that are currently in hero party would be teleported with him.

I think it's hardcoded in game engine that items with UseType "Staff" are held in left hand and not on back. Halberds in mods (I think it was actually used for the first time in one of the community patches or something? I'm not sure) have simply changed UseType from Halberd to Staff.
It should work without any patches, but I cannot guarantee that there won't be any problems, as I only tested it on 1.75 with Parallel Universe Patch.
