Yet Another Unofficial Patch (YAUP, for short) is a mod you're definitely not going to like because it takes a traditional numerical approach to roleplaying mechanics in NotR that were previously incorporated into the gameplay through player input automatically, subject to the original developers' design choices, while also containing arbitrary reimaginings of these same design choices. It's somewhat biased towards traditional roleplaying aspects where you actually roleplay your character (or at least try) as well. Plus, it certainly will not match your own internal vision of what such a project should be, to boot. If you're looking for a package that is casually friendly and has many quality-of-life features, like most modern ZenGin mods that need to mimic popular MMORPGs, then you might want to look the other way. This is an old-school approach to modding, with all its benefits and drawbacks. That being said, in terms of bug fixing and the restoration of cut content, this mod is second to none in the fandom. All while still adding new content, keeping to the general "feel" and lore of the original game, while still not being afraid to push the envelope every now and then. It comes in two versions:
"Regular Customer": this is recommended for those who don't want to experience some of the more advanced new mechanics (especially those related to combat) and dislike traditional roleplaying calculations and numeric formulae commonly found in old roleplaying games
"Serious Client": this is recommended for those who like to plan, prepare, and challenge their intellectual capabilities. Not for the faint of heart, as this mode is a serious challenge

Both versions come in one easy-to-follow and conclusive installer that minimizes any client-side prep work, keeping user convenience in mind. Keep in mind that even in the "RC" version, the vast majority of the information about the new content and mechanics is still externalized (quick references, changelogs, and FAQs). It's up to you and you only to read it before launching the mod, but if you decide to skip on that, the mod won't discriminate and will let you succeed and/or fail at your own chosen pace.

Additionally, this is the father mod that pioneered use of Union (SystemPack v2.0) and its components (patches, plugins) here since late 2018/early 2019, paving the way for all other modifications that nowadays use it too, like L'Hiver(s), The Returning(s), Nostalgic/Atariar/Definitive Edition(s), Odyssee, Legends of Ashun, Othello, Guilds, and etc.​

THE INSTALLATION GUIDE WITH DOWNLOAD LINKS:

Required package (needed; must be installed before playing the mod):

1. Download the all-in-one installer for Yet Another Unofficial Patch v2.6.9.1 (1 GB), then launch it, and follow the instructions to install.
2. Launch via the shortcut and play.

Optional package (can be installed any time):

1. Download Upscaled Gothic II Gold Videos v1.0 (1.35 GB) and unpack it to X:\Gothic II NotR/Gold\ installation directory. //This patch upscales all the English Gothic II Gold videos to 720p resolution with addition of an advanced rescaler for better quality.

THE FAQ:

- Do I need to start a new game?

It is required. Applying this patch to an ongoing session of clean Gothic 2 NotR/Gold will result in errors. If you're updating from previous version of YAUP, you can continue as usual until said otherwise.

- Does this mod make the game harder?

Most likely. One might realize that the old tricks and exploits don't work anymore, for example. However, the current LP system still allows a rather high degree of random LPs spending like in the vanilla.

- Does it require a more powerful equipment to run?

Perhaps. Your NotR with Union runs fine? It shall the same with this unofficial patch. Still, if you're using an ancient rig, then maybe, just maybe, this mod isn't for you, in the end, but it's time for you to upgrade anyway.

А зачем он нужен в русскоязычном сегменте игроков? Неужели в нем кто-то играет в английскую версию оригинала Г2НВ? Даже немецкая и польская версии популярнее, чем инглиш-вариант.

Неужели в нем кто-то играет в английскую версию оригинала Г2НВ? Даже немецкая и польская версии популярнее, чем инглиш-вариант.
Как то разок пробовал пройти англ.версию, ужас, еле еле до конца первой главы добрался, в итоге плюнул и поставил немецкую
В английской версии нет той глубины речи и диалогов, что присущно оригиналу

There's a "warmfix" in v2.6 at ModDb "files" tab for the mod, that fixes the dialogs at Vatras, about the "orders", and at Constantino, the messed up alchemy teaching one. Just pay attention to what version you installed via the installer, so it would match the one from the fix. No overwriting included.

The warmfix of the third iteration just got uploaded to ModDb. Updating your installation is recommended. Full compatibility with v2.6 saves, previously "warmfix" patched or not. Overwrite when prompted.

No warmfix this time, but a completely new v2.6.1. Saves NOT compatible with whatever was before it, of course. The version 2.6 with "Warmfix 3" can be finished, but ointments/salves cannot be crafted at all and there's a bug that requires certain special melee weapons to have two pieces of red hot raw steels instead just one. The v2.6.1 is free of those plus all those random things that popped up in the meantime, like entrapping dialogs (v2.6 Warmfix 3 has these fixed too). Cheers.

Alright. The v2.6.2 is up and it's the last version that needed many invasive internal changes to get rid of those pesky internal development bugs that were in the previous versions. Updating and starting a new game is recommended. Saves NOT compatible, as usual. But this shall be the very last version that will last for a while, so download, install and play.

The v2.6.3 is in, and it's based on a successful completion of the game with the mod. All encountered random internal development bugs, issues, and exploits are goners. No saves compatibility with saves made on prior versions, as always. Highly recommended to use in all cases. Free of gluten.

Yo-yo. I know you were waiting for this announcement, so here it is: ACHTUNG! The version of 2.6.4 number is up. It is what you always wanted, but never knew. No compatibility with the previous versions and removed the insider files for Gothic Starter launcher, and added two different shortcuts for the mod in the Start Menu and for the desktop (finally!). Oh, and those three leftover, yet minor, but still aggravating internal bugs were squished too. Grab it while it's hot; forget about The Returning, hehe.

Welp, the neverending hours poured into this project finally brought a most polished release of the 2.6 branch, mainly version 2.6.5. It's chocolate flavored, free of gluten, and friendly to cattle. Do I even have to tell you what to do?

A "fuck up" has happened. Download the 2.6.5.1 version as soon as you can and install over 2.6.5, since a critical error in the Chapter 5 is bound to happen. You're already in that Chapter? Find a save from the previous one or earlier. As a booster, the mass heating at forges has been included, so you no longer have to run through the animation, placing billets one after another for 10 minutes, hehe.

The new version is up. Nothing critical, mostly minor inconveniences patched up and the (un)installer now covering all (un)installing options for real. No compatibility with the saves made on the previous versions, like usually, hehe.

Czudak, Hi, mate, just started this mod and haven't used any plugins on the 1st launch and immediately noticed that my favourite hit-strafe-hit "kill mob in 2 seconds" trick doesn't work here, so if there are more such changes ahead I am concerned that Human remaster plugin will ruin designed game experience, but I got used to it. Second question, can i make right mouse button work in the same way as ESC button, to finish interactions, close inventory etc.?
UPD.: Maaaan, your mod is so optimized, it runs so smooth on my old potato pc, I never experienced playing dx11 without freezes before now, ur version of dx works fine on other mods too, making them better, save/load time is also great, no delay. Great job, buddy!

Dreamtrust The Humans Remaster will definitely collide with my custom stuff made with animations, so if you want to see my vision unfiltered, you surely do want not to add it to the mix. As for changing left/right mouse buttons being stuck as they are now, read Quick Reference.pdf (in NotR's main directory), under "Miscellaneous" at the 22nd entry.

Also, good to know the two custom things I applied for the newest DX11 renderer paid off, apparently, hehe.
